Rae Bridges (she/her)

Rae is a Provisional Psychologist who is enthusiastic about supporting people across the lifespan, with a particular passion for working with children and young people. She believes that everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe, accepted and genuinely heard, and aims to create that kind of space for the people she works with. 

Rae takes a warm, collaborative and person-centred approach to therapy. Rather than believing there is one way of doing therapy, she draws from a range of approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and trauma-informed practices. She also incorporates neurodivergent-affirming and gender-affirming approaches into her work. 

For Rae, it is about getting to know the person behind the concerns they bring to a session. She takes the time to understand what matters to each person, what has shaped their experiences, what they would like to be different, and what is already working well. From there, she works collaboratively with clients to find approaches and strategies that feel useful and meaningful, rather than trying to fit them into a particular therapeutic model. 

Rae particularly enjoys working with children and young people and supporting them as they navigate the many changes that come with growing up. This can include exploring emotions, relationships, identity, self-understanding, confidence and the challenges that can arise along the way. She also enjoys working with adults and families and values the opportunity to support people at different stages of their lives. 

She sees therapy as a shared process and believes that building a genuine, trusting relationship is one of the most important parts of that process. As a provisional psychologist, Rae is continually learning and developing her practice through supervision, reflection and experience, while bringing curiosity, openness and compassion to the work she does.
