Erin McLellan (she/her) is a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental Provisional Psychologist who practices from a neuro-affirming, LGBTIQ+ ally approach. She is dedicated and passionate about providing LGBTIQ+ inclusive care and client-centered support, especially within the neurodiverse and LGBTIQ+ communities. Erin feels honored to be a part of her clients' experiences and values the diversity and lived experiences of each individual. She strives to create a therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe, respected, heard, and empowered to be themselves.
Erin’s approach is strongly collaborative; strengths-based and focuses on celebrating differences while supporting self-advocacy. She has experience working with individuals of all ages, from 4 to 100, and with diverse identities and backgrounds, but has a special interest in working with neurodiversity support for individuals who identify as neurodivergent and those who identify as LGBTIQ+. Both communities are integral to her own identity and foundations. Erin is committed to each client for as long as they need, providing support in a warm and non-assuming manner, and is dedicated to ongoing learning about the unique challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ communities, including identity exploration, minority stress, and navigating both subversive and direct discrimination.
Her practice is trauma-informed and affirming of all gender identities, sexual orientations, and neurotypes. Erin's key strengths, apart from being neurodiversity affirming and LGBTIQ+ inclusive, include her open, compassionate, non-judgmental stance and attentiveness to individuals' experiences. She thrives on creating a safe, supportive space for all clients and is passionate about embracing each individual's uniqueness and inherent resilience.
Erin has strong rapport-building experience in addition to collaborative goal-setting skills and emphasizes meeting clients where they are, adapting her approach to suit individual needs while fostering growth and self-understanding. She values collaboration not only with clients but also with their support systems, ensuring holistic care and continuity.
Her main modalities include a mix of strengths-based, affirming exploration, with elements of CBT, ACT, and DBT, while focusing on celebrating diversity and empowering individuals to recognize and utilize their inherent strengths instead of highlighting perceived deficits. She is also a creative and flexible problem-solver, thinking outside the box.
Erin is proficient in a wide range of psychological assessments, including WISC, WIAT, MIGDAS, ADOS (when indicated), and Conners, performing ADHD, Autism, and cognitive assessments for both children and adults.
