Ms Erin McLellan

Provisional Psychologist

Erin McLellan (she/her) is a compassionate, empathetic and non-judgmental Provisional Psychologist who practices from a neuro-affirming, LGBTIQ+ ally approach. She is dedicated and passionate about providing affirming, inclusive and client centered care, especially within the neurodiverse and LGBTIQ+ space. She feels honoured to be a part of client's experiences and values the diversity and lived experience of each individual. Erin strives to create a therapeutic environment where individuals feel safe, respected, heard, and empowered to be themselves.

Erin’s approach is strongly collaborative; strengths based and focuses on celebrating differences while supporting self-advocacy.

Erin has experience working with individuals of all ages, from 4 to 100; identities and background but has a special interest and affinity while working with individuals who identify as neurodivergent and those who identify as LGBTIQ+, as both communities are very much part of her own identity and foundations. She is committed to each client for as long as they need, in a supportive, warm and non-assuming way and committed to ongoing learning about unique challenges faced by LGBTIQ+ communities, including identity exploration, minority stress and navigating discrimination, both subversive and more directed.

Her practice is trauma informed and affirming all gender identities, sexual orientations, and neurotypes. Erin’s key strengths, apart from being Neurodiversity affirming and LGBTIQ+ inclusive, are her open, compassionate, non-judgmental stance and attentiveness when listening to individuals' experiences. She also thrives on creating a safe, supportive space for all clients and is passionate about embracing the individual’s uniqueness and inherent resilience.

She has strong rapport building experience in addition to collaborative goal setting skills and places a strong emphasis on meeting clients where they are, adapting her approach to suit individual needs while fostering growth and self-understanding. She values collaboration not only with clients but also with their support systems, ensuring holistic care and continuity.

Her main modalities are a mix of strengths based, affirming exploration, with elements of CBT, ACT, and DBT, but the focus most definitely on celebrating diversity and individuals' being able to see and use their inherent strengths, not highlighting or focusing on any perceived deficits. She is also a creative and flexible problem-solver, thinking outside of the box.

Erin is proficient in a wide range of assessment tools such as WISC, WIAT, MIGDAS, ADOS (when indicated), and Conners and performs ADHD, Autism, and cognitive assessments for children and adults.
